What is Ephedra plant and explain? 

An evergreen or climbing stem and tiny scale-like leaves. 

Explain:

Ephedra is a plant belong to the group of Gymnosperms. Its stem is small woody and branched. Ephedra plant consists of about of 35 species it is a small, woody and much branched shrubs, about 1.9 to 2 metres in height. Ephedra plants branched are slender and green. The branches are a small scale-like leaves usually arranged in pairs or groups. 


Example of Ephedra plant: 

The vegetation is a mix of grasses, annual herubs and isolated patches of mesquite, cholla, ephedra and yucca. 

Life cycle of Ephedra plant:

The life cycle of Ephedra plant is complete in two stages. 
(1) Sporophytic stage 
(2) Gametophytic stage 
So an this two process by a complete a life cycle. 

Fertilization of Ephedra plant:

The pollen tube passes through the neck and reach the oosphere where two male gamets are released. The fertilization takes place in less than 12 hours after pollination.
